Soft Greens of Spring Are Here Serenity Garden

“My horse has always been there for me.”  Jill writes from California that no matter what has gone on in her life – good or bad – her horse has been a solid reliable companion.    “If I have any tension for the day, the minute I drive down the driveway of the barn and know that I will be with my horse and surrounded by other horses, peace and happiness overcome me. “

Thanks Jill.  Reminds me of a pillow I have:  “Horse people are very stable.”

“Remembering God’s faithfulness”   Rebekah writes that serenity for her comes when “doing a Bible reading or study.  Just remembering God’s great faithfulness soothes me.  Also listening to Jim Brickman or another instrumentalist.”

She also says just taking a walk is also calming.

“Prayer and chanting”  Alvin says he chants to reach his highest potential and enlightenment and says, “I feel better.”  It doesn’t always work, though.  I laughed when he said, “Sometimes I am thwarted by the reality of the world.  I once changed for two hours and ten minutes and later wanted to strangle someone in the supermarket parking lot!”

That’s OK!  We’re all human!

“Be Anxious for Nothing.”  Bimbo finds his comfort in this Bible verse:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to GOD.  And the peace of GOD which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  --Philiippians 4:6-7.

“Water”    “I enjoy hearing water, being near the water.  I have a foundtaint hat spills water into my pool and I love hearing the sound,” Sharon writes.  If you take just a moment and focus on what Sharon describes, you can almost hear the tinkling sounds of running water.  It is soothing.
